You’ve heard the story about Eric Clapton leaving The Yardbirds over the final straw of the band recording the pop ditty “For Your Love”. How dare the band forsake Da Blooz!
Now, however, I ask you to consider the costs of blues credibility, particularly as it applies to this Humble take on the number.
Next, consider the flipside, in a variation on this well-known theme…
Now, that’s a Look I can get behind!
Not for Clapton, mind you.
In lieu of an All-Star Jam, where I might “do my own thing,” I’ll pass along this link to an interview with our very own Saturnismine regarding his new album with Photon Band. The interview was conducted by our very own SallyC. Enjoy.

hey…thanks for posting that, mod! and carly, well, you know i had fun doing that interview, and thanks for helping us!
to the d.c.’ers on the list (that means YOU hvb!): we’re playing on Friday night at The Red and the Black (i think it’s on H st.).
hit me up off list if you’re coming. i’ll see what i can do about guest listing you etc..
a second post regarding the humble pie. they’re a great lost band aren’t they? it occurs to me that this take on “for your love’ is the exact same chords as Zeppelin’s “Babe I’m gonna Leave You”. is this yet another zep ripoff? considering that Page sought Marriott’s pipes before kicking over a midlands rock and finding Plant and Bonzo, it’s very possible.
Crumble (Ass) Pie
So to speak!
That second video reminds me of how I’ve never understood the concept behind suspension bridges (if suspension bridge is the one I’m thinking of) where they are held up by their own weight.
Or something like that…
