This popped up on my Google Reader shortly after firing up my computer this morning. What a great way to start the day; Christmas comes early for Anglophiles!

    Is that Jimmy?

  2. Yep, Phil Daniels.

I don’t know, a live gig in Paris next summer, and maybe Glastonbury? That’s a paycheck, and maybe good PR for the back catalogue, not a reunion. Wake me when they’re in the studio working on an album.

  4. BigSteve, you’re discounting the hours of enjoyment I’ll get from scouring YouTube for shaky, audience-filmed clips from the Hyde Park show!

    Pass the brown rice, please.

  5. I’m glad they are back together.

While Damon certainly proved himself in recent years, I always thought Blur were greater than the sum of their parts.

Some of their previous singles are outright classics and I look forward to more of the same.

    Viva Le Blur!

    C.

  6. ahhhh. I logged onto the internet at just the right time. I have been wondering when Damon started to back away from talking about a 2nd The Good the Bad… album, where the material he had been supposedly working on might pop up. One can only hope and pray I suppose.

I forgot about Rowntree running for office over there. I wonder if his political opponents will try to stir up anti-Blur sentiment lingering from the Oasis Wars.

I’d really love for this to go somewhere more than a show or two, but I’m afraid Steve might have it right.

  8. Never knew there was a video for this song (or that it was a single) My fave from that CD is “Trouble In The Message Center” and I know Girls & Boys was a “single” cause I have a CD single of that.

Have to say I like them better early in their career (song #2 era was a bore) when the Kinks, Jam, XTC influences were right out front
