I liked it. I think Blunderbuss is a terrific album, and for whatever reason it is, I’m really interested in what he does when Meg isn’t concerned. I don’t dislike The White Stripes, but I don’t seem to get too worked up either way about them. But when Jack’s in a band I seem to find him more interesting. That was cool. It convinced me I should listen to this:
I thought this was a great meld of instrumental and video. It was helped by the lack of Jack vocals and lyrics, the artifice of which have been a stumbling block for me – not because of the artifice itself or because I’m a hater, but because he traffics in a form of artifice that I typically find grating and unnecessary. As a producer/arranger/player, he’s usually outstanding, as shown in this song. Thanks for the turn-on. I’ll try once again to tolerate his lyrics and vocals.
This one doesn’t do much for me musically but I like the visuals. However, in general, as I think I’ve mentioned here before, I usually end up liking Jack White a lot more than I think I’m going to.

It would appear Jack has been listening very closely to his Led Zep albums lately.
And maybe his Ennio Morricone ones, too.
