I’ll save the most obvious one likely to come to mind for RTHers so that someone who loves the song more than I do can suggest it. I’ll go with Alternative TV’s “Action Time Vision” (I think that’s the title).
CORRECT! That’s the obvious one that came to mind for me. As a side topic, I’m always surprised at how beloved that song is. I think it’s OK, but I never understand the absolute love a lot of like-minded music fans have for it. Maybe part of the problem for me is how bad I think the production sounds. I can’t “get inside” that song in any way.
Yeah, your LMS will be launched next. Al just beat you in the queue. Thanks!
I gotta go with Action Packed. A few people have done it but I’m thinking of Ronnie Dee. I’ve got another one in my back pocket, hopefully I won’t forget it while I think of others.
I worked at a TV station that was in that group — Action 5 News — I had to say that tag line “Funoka, Action 5 News” covering city council, school board, court cases — it was the furthest thing from “action.”
No, it was a semi-staple of his live shows in 1977, later recorded (but not released) by Gary “US” Bonds. One of his stylistic throwbacks, sounding very much like a 60s girl group song, ala his own similar “Give the Girl a Kiss.”

LMS!
Bruce Springsteen: “Action in the Streets.” (I assume that’s not the most obvious one?)
Pete Townshend’s “Let’s See Action” off Who Came First. Is that the obvious one?
“Action,” by Sweet
Shake some action, of course!
And also – dang, I posted a LMS today also. Oh well.

Great one I’d forgotten about, but no the obvious one I had in mind!
I never even heard of that song! Is that on one of his early albums, and the title never stuck?

Love In Action – Utopia
Ok, feel free to delay it a while. I wouldn’t want to cause LMS burn out. Just change my reference to Paul Simon’s birthday, if you remember.
The Litter, “Action Woman”
The production is….weird, but memorable.
T Rex – solid gold easy action
Baby Flamehead – Action News Theme

Good one!

The Dave Edmunds mixing board has no mid-range.
Freddie Cannon — “Where the Action Is”
Theme song of Dick Clark’s mid-60s TV program
It was hearing that song the other day that led me to create this thread.
Ok, but is the Who version a separate entry? If so, LMS!
This one’s for you LMKR: Human League, “Love Action”

Count Five – Pyschotic Reaction
We’re not ready for things like The Stones – SatisfACTION yet, are we?
Cuz I’ve still got a few.
Fu Manchu – Action Is Go!
I was holding out on SatisfACTION for a bit but since you went there, we are ready for it!
Tell me you can sit still to this great northern soul song – The Celestrals – Chain Reaction
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTplNvDdm-o
Before I forget (it can’t happen soon enough) Robert Hazard & the Heroes’ “Change Reaction.”
Ah, Misterioso, you are too kind.
I love that song.
Darn it, it was the first thing I thought of, too.
Great minds think alike…
He wants to be remembered to you all:

Right Action – Franz Ferdinand
I want to submit an honorary mention of the song, “I Love the Nightlife,” because of the singer’s exaggerated pronunciation of ack-shawn. Carry on…
“Man of Action” — Fleetwood Mac. From the album The Vaudeville Years.
Well played, sir.
Another northern soul number, Timmy Willis – Mr. Soul Satisfaction

I’m a little late to this one but if you like it loud and dirty then there is no better than:
The Hellacopters – “(Gotta Get Some Action) NOW!”
http://youtu.be/fADaagZLxc0
I was holding on to that one! Guess I held on too long. So here’s The Sensational Alex Harvey Band – Action Strasse
http://youtu.be/o9IXdZBwF54
I almost went with
Def Leppard – Action! Not Words
http://youtu.be/MpRnkTggqzA
or there is Poison – “I Want Action”
http://youtu.be/GHcDX1C-J30
wonderfully brainless and well written pop songs.
