Al was trying to initiate a post to about something but was having trouble getting into the Back Office. With that comment, virtually begging to be superseded, I AM THE LAST MAN STANDING!
You warned us this day might come. But while I feel like I should be grateful that we had this awesome joint as long as I we did, I can’t help but give you the glare that girl in class gave the teacher in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off:
Just to be clear, I am in no way authorized to shut this thing down. I’m just trying to get the last word in in the event that this goes out with a whimper, not a bang. To that end, please hand over the belt.
I’m going to use Last Man Standing: Last Man Standing as Last All Star Jam and note that Friend of the Hall Andy Partridge – a scant year after the nth reissue of Skylarking (the reversed polarity edition) is releasing the nth+1 reissue.
Nice Joe Jackson clip. I really liked those first two albums of his; I should give them a listen to see how they’ve held up.
Much like Costello, I have to admire Jackson’s various genre-hopping daliiances and I’ve even liked some a lot, but I can’t help wishing for another Look Sharp! or Get Happy! (to stick with exclamation point titles).
Ah, for the good old days of RTH, when I could request an insightful, likely scathing analysis of Jackson from Mr. Mod…
A week or two ago, when people were being encourage to post a “great” album cover on that Facebook thing – without explanation, according to the rules (eff that!) – a friend posted some Joe Jackson album cover. Just seeing his smarmy face made me sick in the stomach and reminded me of his circa-1984 interview in which he said his early works were a sham to get quick attention. I still hate that guy, despite liking the first 2 albums.
Don’t worry, we won’t go out with a whimper, if I can manage the time and motivation. I’m working on my mojo. I could crank out some regular content again, I guess, but I want to finish with meaning – and I want to finish with my planned chats with a bunch of you. I promise that the longer I delay the stronger I will eventually emerge.
I gotta agree that my enjoyment of early Joe Jackson is only compromised when I have to see him, not sure just what it is but the urge to smack him is strong…
Anyway, I just wanted to say that, as well as, of course, LMS!
I have enjoyed this blog and the conversations over the years. I first discovered RTH searching for stories on The Byrds and stumbled on some fantastic conversation and insight from the RTH bloggers.

(Not sure if that link’ll come through or not. Terribly afraid it might break the blog oh wait.)
Aw, hell: I can’t stay mad at youse mugs. Thanks for years of a fantastic haven.

And here I thought the worst finishing move was Hulk Hogan’s “Big Leg”.
For instance, shouldn’t Spielberg have ended the credits for Jaws with “Fin”?

And I have to note that the entire history of Rock Town Hall is justified by Partidge’s screed against Mr Mod.
Oh, and I also have to note – I am the LMS!!!
Hey are you guys playin cards?
Man, I really like this song. Dunno why it decided to live in my ear this week. https://youtu.be/nNzzK1dUtCI
Oh, LMS! Boom!
