Thanks to Oats for sending me this link while the site was down this morning:

  2. GAH!!! That clip was truly awful.

I’d pay to see The Metal Machine Trio, if I had that kind of discretionary cash laying around, just for the novelty of it. I like that album.

What’s up with the wink at 1:49?

I’m officially creeped out. That’s gonna make my skin crawl all day.

Hey at least the audience is hip enough to clap on the 2 and the 4 instead of the 1 and the 3.

What’s with the strap-on mic *and* the stand-mic?

  6. Who knows, maybe this IS the way Lou was always meant to sound? Clearly, he hasn’t discovered his true sound yet; maybe this is it?

In a similar vein, I notice, with interest, the upcoming release of a new Melissa Etheridge album. Not that I care about her music – I don’t think I could name a single song of hers – but because of the marketing angle of each new album. There’s always some Oprah-worthy news accompanying each new release. “Hey, I’m a lesbian”. “Hey I married the ex-wife of Lou Diamond Phillips.” “Hey, David Crosby is the father of our baby.” “Hey the ex-wife of LDP left me and I’m heartbroken and the blood is on the tracks of my new CD but it’s helped me understand myself and my true friends better and I will survive.”

Can’t wait to find out what this new album will bring. Maybe it will be “Today on a very special Oprah!”.
