Wow! Did anybody notice that drum fill at 2:30 remaining? I know this may be a pince nez, but that is the most otherworldly drum fill since the “kit falls downstairs” fill in Bobby Darin’s “Beyond the Sea.” It leaps out, doesn’t it? And I do enjoy Yoko’s quieter forays into dada. BTW, did the Lennon vs. US thing ever come around? I wanted to see it, then I never heard of it again.

  2. One of my favorite Lennon solo tracks – something that’s always puzzled me about this video clip – two bassists? I think I recognize one as Klaus Voorman, but not sure who the other guy is, but more importantly – why two? But I do think it’s cool to see Mal Evans tapping tambourine. And yes, that drum fill is very cool -“kit falls down stairs” is a very apt description.

That’s a tremendous fill. Is that Alan White, soon thereafter to join Yes?

What an awful, meandering, pointless song that Blues Traveller turd is! Give me a standard I-IV-V blooz number with hyperventilating harp blower any time! ‘Course, I shoulda known when I saw the bass player gently thrumming a *seven-string* monstrosity! Bass players of RTH, I ask you: is there ever any need for more than four strings down there? Seriously!

I’m OK with Tom Peterrson’s 12-string bass but otherwise no.

I think Tom Peterson’s 12-string bass is a hoax! Do you ever get anything extra out of those extraneous strings he’s wielding? For show!

Townsman Hrrundivbakshi, I commend you for sticking with that Blues Traveler video. It’s a real heart of darkness affair, no?

  7. Yoko’s blindfold is about two inches higher than it should normally be.

    Say “Amen!” somebody!

That thing’s a joke. I tried to play one once. It’s physically impossible to fret three bass strings with one finger. Peterson plays the normally tuned bass strings on it and ignores the rest. It’s a functional prop.
