I’m looking for the make and model of car in the lyrics of a song. The lyrics must contain both. Makes maybe reused but not models, so once Ford Mustang is taken, the Pinto is still up for grabs but all other Mustangs are off the table.
The usual rules apply: only one answer per entry please and if you are the current Last Man Standing, please wait until somene else claims the title before submitting another entry.
I will start with Ford Mustang from Bowie’s “Young Americans.”
Clarification – both the make AND the model have to be stated?
Plymouth Satellite — B-52s on Planet Claire
Nash Rambler – “Beep Beep” by the Playmates.

Sammy Johns’ “Chevy Van.”
Jonathan Richman & the Modern Lovers – Dodge Veg-o-matic

I better jump on this one before anybody else gets it:
Ronny & the Daytonas – Antique ’32 Studebaker Dictator Coupe

Studebaker Hawk – “Billy the Mountain” by Frank Zappa, though Frank spells it Studebacher Hoch in the lyrics.
Yes
Stutz Bearcat – Sweet Jane
In Chuck Berry’s No Money Down he mentions Cadillac and DeVille, though not in the same sentence.
Also, Bruce Springsteen mentions Cadillac and Eldorado in different sentences in “Cadillac Ranch”.
Madness’s “MKII” identifies a Jaguar MKII.
Okay, I will accept instances where the make and model are identified in different lines, as long as both lines are referring to the same car.
Nice one!
I was cruisin in my Stingray late one night, when an XKE pulled up on the right, and rolled down the window of his shiny new Jag, and challenged me then and there to a drag.
Dead Man’s Curve.
Yeeeeeees. I am the LMS.
Bo Diddley’s “Ride On Josephine” talks about a hot rod Ford with Thunderbird wings.
“My neighbor’s revving up his Vauxhall Viva”, from “The Beat” by Elvis Costello y Los Attractions.
Alice’s Restaurant mentions a red VW microbus – kind of a monologue, though. Submitted for a ruling…
A chilling song . . . no matter how many times you hear it.
Commander Cody in “Hot Rod Lincoln” – driving that Model A.
If Arlo Guthrie counts — what about Nanci Griffith’s Ford Econoline?

She is so cute!
John Hiatt’s Drive South also mentions the Chevy Van that they are driving, but it’s buried in the tune.
Bruce Springsteen – “Chevrolet Deluxe”.
I’m sure this is probably a bit off-topic but Plymouth gin is fantastic! Seriously…
Ferrari GTO – Thomas Dolby’s “The Key to Her Ferrari” … year and model are finally revealed during the middle section: “bright red ’64 GTO”
(He’s driving a “dirty Datsun” of unspecified model in “I Love You Goodbye”.)
How about a lyric that includes nearly everything *but* the make and model of car?
“My four-speed, dual-quad, posi-traction, 409.”
Sorry RaoulG, but no dice. Even if they have the VIN number, I still need the make and model
If “Chevy Van” qualifies as a make and model then how about “flat-bed Ford” from Eagles “Take It Easy”?
It’s not an official LMS entry, but T-Rex had a song called “Mustang Ford”.
A good point gregg. I will disallow Chevy Van. Trigmogigmo retains the belt
I really love a line by the Cap Gun Cowboys, “I’m in love with the car, but I know the girl won’t stay.” I know, it has absolutely nothing to do with this, but that was the first thing I thought of.
So I’ll toss in Graham Parker’s Black Lincoln Continental.
I thought I had one with Neil Young’s “Bruce Berry was a working man. He used to load that Econoline van. …” but I see the the Nancy Griffith entry above. Considering how many bands have used Econoline vans, I’m surprised it doesn’t figure in more songs.
With that out of the way, I will submit The Lambrettas (mod revivalist of the early 80s) song Cortina – “But now she’s left with the boy next door, because he’s bought a Cortina Ford.”
Swirlies had an EP entitled “Broke Dick Car” in reference to said van and it’s unreliability.
Can I get a pass for “1952 Vincent Black Lightning” by Richard Thompson, even though it’s a bike? He even give the production date, for f**k’s sake.
If not, I’ll go with “Ridin’ in a Stutz Bearcat, Jim…” from The V.U.’s “Sweet Jane”.
Stan Ridgway’s great song “The Roadblock” features a mystery driver in a ’69 Chevy Camaro. one foot slammed on the gas — no shoe, just an argyle sock

May need a judgment on this one. Johnny Cash’s “One Piece at a Time”. He says, “The first year they had me puttin’ wheels on cadillacs” and later, “GM wouldn’t miss just one little piece”.
The car is clearly a Cadillac, that’s his dream behind the entire premise and the word is used. He also mentions GM. The only catch is the many years worth of parts and a title that weighs “60 pounds”.
I’m thinking the belt is mine.
Sorry but he doesn’t mention a model. Also, Cadillac Eldorado was already mentioned.
I mentioned that one on Friday. And no motorcycles.
It should be noted, however, that Chevrolet officially called its van in the ’70s “Chevy Van” in promo literature. Here’s the front cover of the ’76 brochure.

Doh!
Oops.
“Jaguar & Thunderbird” by Chuck Berry:
“Ten miles stretch on an Indiana road/
T’was a sky blue Jaguar and a Thunderbird Ford”
Love the “road/Ford” rhyme.
Sorry but k already picked up the Ford Thunderbird.
D’OH!!!
Okay, I got nothin’….
Does the Little Old Lady from Pasadena’s Super Stock Dodge count?
