Thanks to my close, personal Facebook friends Cobra Verde, here’s yet another reason to believe the long-awaited Loutallica collaboration is finally going to capture Lou’s music as it was meant to sound!
This is the best thing I ever did. And I did it with the best group I could possibly find. By definition, everybody involved was honest. This has come into the world pure. We pushed as far as we possibly could within the realms of reality. – Read more…
November 1, 2011 can’t come soon enough!
Has there ever been a Lou Reed album that never required some sort of but… qualifier to adequately explain it? For instance, I think Berlin is a fine album but man, is it self-consciously arty and depressing. Rock and Roll Animal is a pretty good live document but the credit for that goes more to the backup band than to Lou.
Lou has said the same thing about every album he’s made since Metal Machine Music. The only one I remember him openly pissing on is Sally Can’t Dance, and I love that album. As a big Lou Fan, though, I can say that this project interests me as much as his stint with kung fu and shiny swords did.
Oh I’m definitely interested in hearing this. I wouldn’t assume it’s going to be bad, but I’m not going to be gobsmacked if it is bad.
It sounds like it will be the follow up to “Hedwig and the Angry Inch.”
I love, “By definition, everybody involved was honest.” What the hell does that even mean?
We can only hope…
I think he clarified that by saying “We pushed as far as we possibly could within the realms of reality.”
What was that Metallica-in-couples-therapy movie (Some Kind of Monster)? If you are less than honest in celebrity therapy Drew Pinsky’s gonna call out on it.
