  1. Mr. Moderator

Is that their well-known hit “Blind-side Hit” or the lesser-known “I Could Have Had a V8”?

  2. Not enough power oout of their 3 guitar attack. They do try to “mak schau” 🙂

I like how the bass player’s head keeps going “Back, and to the left. Back, and to the left.” Reminds me of the historically accepted reason the youth of America became smitten with the Beatles.

Those fellows need to be careful, they were almost as comprehensible as Little Richard. So the infant Tamio Okuda was unavailable for this gig?

I swear I laugh out loud every time I see this. I used to watch the comdey/variety show those guys put on every Saturday night in Japan back in the 70s. They’re called The Drifters, by the way. Or, pronounced a la Japanese: “Za Doh-reefu-tahzu.” You’re right, Mock, the bassist getting punched in the head every time the drummer drops a bomb is a highlight. I also like the whole band falling down at the end, and the drummer running out to blurt something unintelligible into the mic for his one moment of Beatles fame. Brilliant. (BTW, this is the comedy troupe that begat Beat Takeshi, though this footage predates him by a decade or two.)

  5. Incidentally, Takeshi’s new movie, GLORY TO THE FILMMAKER, is one of the most utterly cracked things I have ever seen, and it also reunites him with an old comedy partner of his, the guy known as Kenny Blankenship on MXC.
