OK, so I am the 108,483rd person to have watched this YouTube clip. Hopefully that puts me at least 1 up on some of you. Where was this clip’s creator when this series begged for exclusive debut rights? What would Cliff say?

  1. I saw this video awhile back with some other rant; didn’t realize it was a series.

Looks like Hitler would be a natural for RTH. His musical criticisms mirror the type of critique often found in these parts.

I saw where 85 year old Tony Bennett just debuted at #1 on Billboard with his new Duets II album. Wonder if Lou & Co. will duplicate that feat?

  2. I just went to youtube and listened to The View, the lead track from Loutallica. I haven’t heard Lou actually sing (as opposed to speak) a song in years; oddly enough he chooses this one to sing even though it has no melody.

So what you’re saying is that it’s perfect for his range…

  4. I’m listening to this song for the first time now, too. It’s a mess. His vocals are barely audible, and like you say, he’s singing something – a melody that sounds like the “I am the waterboy” part of Berlin‘s “The Kids” – but it sounds like Metallica’s not aware of Lou’s involvement. In fact, Metallica sounds like a couple of unrelated dudes dicking around from different parts of a Sam Ash music store.

…and here I thought “What would Cliff think?” was a shout out to me until I watched the clip. This is probably the 8th variation of this Hitler rant video I’ve seen. This one is pretty good.
Even though I have a couple 2 Metallica albums(early years) and a Lou Reed box set(and the odd vinyl), and I’ve seen both in concert, I’m not looking forward to this project. How do you fit so much ego into one place?

“I haven’t heard Lou actually sing (as opposed to speak) a song in years…”

It could well be argued that “in years” is superfluous.

This is the funniest of these Hitler voice overs that I’ve seen so far. I’m still having such a hard time squaring Bruno Ganz, one of my favorite actors, as Hitler. Maybe he’d be more believable playing Lars Ulrich.

  8. This one is pretty good, but ladymiss have you seen the Oasis breakup one? This one just kills me:

  9. I was going to suggest that one as well. Funny stuff.

Because I am permanently way behind the times, the whole Hitler commentary on pop culture video mashup thingy is something I just learned about recently, like last month. I think the Oasis one was the first one I saw.
