What’s on your mind? The All-Star Jam is the place to do your thing. It’s a great way for newcomers to break the ice and share something/anything that’s on their mind. Let it all hang out.
Despite gold records, Lester Chambers of the renowned R ‘n’ B group The Chambers Brothers is broke. The lead singer of the ’60s group posted this picture on his Facebook page. The picture tells the story. There’s nothing more to add except, if brothers can spare some money, donate here.
From Sweet Relief:
Lester Chambers has been a ground breaking force in music for over 50 years. In 2009 Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, with the help of Lester’s friends in the music industry were able to raise urgent contributions to pay for medical treatment and housing expenses.
This past year with renewed health Lester embarked upon a path to expand his live performance schedule and supplement his fixed income. Although several outstanding shows and events transpired, including a sold out benefit with friend Steve Cropper, financial security is still out of reach.
Sweet Relief is reaching out on behalf of Lester Chambers to develop a financial fund to pay for his housing and medical expenses currently not covered. Lester represents so many elder musicians that have meager income, rapidly reducing royalties and an ever increasing cost of living.

The Chambers Brothers’ 1969 hit was the 11-minute song, Time Has Come Today.
Regarding the current Hipper Than Thou poll: this was a tricky one.
I quickly rejected myself and Mr Kir-Royale because both of us later regretted our choices to a certain degree.
Happiness Stan seemed like a decent choice but if Nirvana was at the height of their popularity, there would be a lot of things that would annoy me at that show too (massive crowds, lots of meatheads).
E. Pluribus Gergely, although I sincerley miss his presence here, is decidedly not hip, although he doesn’t seem to really care which could make him hipper than anyone. However, I went for what I considered to be the safe choice and voted for k.
That Nirvana show at Dobbs is a classic in Philly rock folklore and everyone in the tri-state area except for me appears to have squeezed into that tiny venue. For k to walk out because he couldn’t carry on a conversation, and for him not to regret the missed opportunity to see them before all the hype, makes him the most hipper than thou.
I agree with your rationale almost entirely, but don’t be fooled by EPG’s Common Man pose. It’s not that he doesn’t care; he knows he’s hipper than everyone else, which ultimately works against his hipness. Still a great guy, nevertheless, and I need to catch up with him soon.
Do not believe in Lent.
Prior to visiting the Town Hall I’d just posted a comment about this very song on FBook. Paging Dr. Jung

Jim Kerr is insufferable.
That’s what Chrissie Hynde said.
Just wondering if anyone else finds this interesting?

Green Day has already tried juvenile-funny and juvenile-political so juvenile-raunchy seems a good next step.
Billie Joe Armstrong is 40 now. What he might actually achieve is juvenile-pathetic.
I ran across this document today:

I wonder how it would’ve affected the Beatles’ history (if at all) had Capitol created a McCartney-centered Beatles album.
THAT’S something worth considering… Let me sleep on that one.
Best song about today I know of:
