In celebration of the current Dugout Chatter, I should note that I bought the “Son of Dracula” soundtrack with the original iron-on transfer to make your own t-shirt for a quarter at Goodwill a few years back.
Glen Campbell was in DC this week for Alzheimer’s awareness, and it reminded me that the best song on Glen’s recent album was written by Paul Westerberg — “Ghost On the Canvass.”
Westerberg has been keeping low profile, but you can see him reprise a bit of the Replacements’ “Bastards of Young” video in the video for the song. If you haven’t seen this, it worth a watch — and Glen sounds pretty darn good. http://youtu.be/A7kw5zXVFVQ
I did have one of her albums as a kid — I Remember Yesterday — which featured “I Feel Love” — I probably liked it because of the moaning, which seemed a little edgy at the time. I also seem to remember being a big fan of this album cover: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Four_Seasons_Of_Love.jpg
I saw her at really weird trade event about eight years ago that also featured one of the dudes from Grand Funk. I was pretty shocked at how heavy she was — at that time, but when I saw her on TV a couple of years ago, she had trimmed down.
First, yes, that freeze frame of Don Was is priceless!
Second, I’m unable to watch this at the moment, but is this for real? I’ve had a “Satanic Beach Boys” post in development for the last 3 years. I just need to take the time to figure out how to make the supporting video. I hope these German filmmakers didn’t beat me to it.

Oh my, Donna Summer is dead:

I couldn’t stand most of her music, but she was a force in the music industry during a strange phase.
Let’s take it back to the source, shall we?

RIP to one of my brief teen infatuations.
Aw, my copy didn’t have an iron-on! Now I feel gypped.

Worth it just for the YouTube freeze frame of Don Was!
