I believe Savile was a personal friend of Glitter’s, and defended him in the press after the collection of kiddie porn was found on Gar’s computer…saying something like, “it’s not as if he was displaying it publicly”…
The reason I usually hear is Chris is now a professional artist, and is no longer into playing music. Plus, he says he’s totally out of practice on drums.
I also think it’s really cool to do this for Slim.
Some great photos of the Beatles:

A FB friend hipped me to another cool BBC documentary, this one on “kraut rock” (running time is approx. one hour): http://youtu.be/cHUwkYkn_kA
I saw that when it was on, pretty cool as I recall.
This is all over the UK media at the moment

Which makes this all the more creepy: http://youtu.be/os1DB_LTO_Q

I’m sorry to read this, Happiness. I remember the nice piece you wrote about him when he died. There’s too much ugliness out there.
This just in! Too late to include in the previous Rock Museums thread but exciting (?) just the same:

Kind of a cool web site. How important is a museum website in attracting visitors? Don’t you go because of the musical interest?
Hey, Oats! Is Ray Davies’ “Working Man’s Cafe” any good?
I’ve never heard that one. I think that was released around the time I had decided that I owned enough Kinks music for one lifetime.
In yet more 50% “reunion” news…

Nice that they’re doing that for Slim.
Agreed. And it’s a bonus if it gets them back together again or even gets Westerberg out of the house with a band.
Any idea what Chris Mars can’t let go of?
Sounds like Ween won’t be reuniting any time soon.

He was out of practice on drums when the band was still together.

Steve Vai and Aimee Mann?

Sounds like John Lennon and Elephants Memory…the way they were meant to sound!
That’s no weirder than Aimee Mann and Rush: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwUY4NobpZk
