The entire Nico aesthetic is so NOT my cup of tea. I couldn’t get through that entire thing. I thought it sucked on all levels. The only thing I appreciate about the Dangerous Minds piece was the bit about Nico’s life lesson for Iggy. I’m not shooting the messenger, HVB, but Nico had much to answer for.
Here is “The Zoot” with their version of Eleanor Rigby. That’s a young Rick Springfield on guitar. I was thinking this could be a Mystery Guest, or perhaps some sort of “find the weirdest cover of Eleanor Rigby” challenge. But I was too knocked out by the awesome guitar toss in the last ten seconds, that’s showmanship! The only toss I can think of, off-hand, that rivals this one is Price’s toss in the George Harrison tribute show, where clearly somebody in a catwalk actually catches the guitar, as it does not come down again.
Speaking of Prince, am I the only RTHer who watched his very funny turn on that “New Girl” show after the Superbowl? He was great, and the show was for-real funny, pretty much all thanks to Prince.
I missed that episode, as I have missed all but the first 3 episodes of that show. Between She & Him and that show, which I thought stunk, I had to break up with Zooey Deschanel. She’s yours, President Clinton.
This is pretty amazing: a music video starring Nico and Iggy Pop, from 1969. The backstory is fascinating.

Nico taught me the same thing as she did Iggy. Unfortunately this was in about 1987 and she was nearly 50.

This interview should be good, from Friend of the Hall Gary Waleik:

She & Him kind of bothers me, too, because I do enjoy M. Ward’s solo stuff. Transfiguration of Vincent is a good album.
It still surprises me that she had one.
