The All-Star Jam is the place to do your thing. Turn up the Sam Ash Sound and let it rip! Check out this gem passed along by ladymisskirroyale: a blog detailing ridiculous indie rock band photos. I’m uncomfortable with the amount of crap indie rock kids take these days, they’re like this era’s jazz fusion cats, but this is funny. Return the jam in favor.

I like that picture of Metallica as Lou Reed intends them to sound. It’s like Lou touched those guys and now they’re 75, too.

  2. That Leo Sayer box comes out next week. 14 CDs for 27 pounds or about or about $3.15 a disc. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Just-Box-Complete-Recordings-1971-2006/dp/B00FE9R226/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382557155&sr=8-1&keywords=leo+sayer+just+a+box

But which would you choose – 14 discs of Leo Sayer or the upcoming John Mellancamp 19 CD box set of his entire repertoire “1978-2012” due on December 10? I hear Edward Snowdon’s files disclose that both have been used at Gitmo…

  3. There’s a Morton’s Fork/Hobson’s Choice for you!

Boy, that’s thirty-three disks of yuck, right there. Throw in a Billy Joel boxed set and you might make a black hole.

    “…Gitmo” – good one!

How about a RTH poll on the topic, Mod?

This article was in today’s Hartford Courant. Note in the third paragraph that the thief’s father was Paul Williams of the Temptations.

What isn’t mentioned in the article was that Johnson, in his summary defense at this trial, said that he did it because he was in desperate need of money and his only other alternative would have been to panhandle.

Apparently he *was* too proud to beg…

Michael McDonald eat your heart out.

  11. I recognize a fair number of those bands, actually.

Any fans of Spoon? If so, what are some of their best songs?

I like Spoon a lot, here are some of my favorites:

I’m partial to the albums Girls Can Tell and Gimme Fiction, in case no one is interested.

Funny, I would say Girls Can Tell and Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga. But, I’ll make two debatable declaritive statements about Spoon:

    1. I don’t think they’ve made a solid album that is great all the way through, though each album always has a few corkers.

    2. If you made compilations of bands which consisted of only the last song on each of their albums, Spoon’s might be the best.

Also, the Divine Fits album is, to me, better than the last couple of Spoon albums.
