Fight through the narcotic madness of Rock Town Hall with reports from the rock frontier in this week’s All-Star Jam! It’s a trip that starts with a giggle and ends with a scream.

CAUTION: They don’t make trailers like this anymore. Coworkers may FREAK OUT if they look over your shoulder.

  1. 18/24. Two of those I couldn’t ID were artists I wouldn’t have recognized in their prime.

  2. ladymisskirroyale

    I recognized only 10 🙁

  3. 2000 Man

I got thirteen. I swore Olivia Newton John was Fergie, but like Mod said, I wouldn’t have known some of those people in their prime!

  4. trigmogigmo

Similar. I got 21, and two of the remaining three I wouldn’t ever have recognized.

19 out of 24. Didn’t recognize Olivia Newton John, Morris Day (recognized him, couldn’t remember his name), Sheena Easton, Nancy Sinatra, and Donovan (!). Good to see Mick Jones is taking care of his teeth.

  6. I love how people are SPOILING the answers for others:) Now that we’ve gone there, I couldn’t believe I pulled Morris Day out of my ass. Seriously, you know what I did to make that happen? I asked myself, “What would hrrundivbakshi and the power of the Holy Trinity of Prince, ELO, and ZZ Top answer?” His name came to me in a flash!

  7. Suburban kid

    I only got 13.

I know, I know–after I hit submit comment I thought, What a jerk, you just spoiled half the quiz. Clueless, sometimes.

  9. 2000 Man

I got Morris Day, too! I don’t know any of his songs. I must have reached up your ass to get that!

  10. 17 right. I only got Morris Day because he was actively doing The Bird. Surprised I missed Glen Campbell.

  11. sammymaudlin

I got 30 because I did the extra credit.

Regarding The Big Cube: This is easily my favorite Karin Mossberg film.

  12. Mr. Mod, I want you to be honest. Don’t those 10 seconds of Nick Lowe in the beginning make you question your regard for latter day Lowe?

I clicked on the link to amazon and learned that this is a DVD-R made to order when you purchase it. I don’t like the sound of that.

  13. And speaking of Walk, Don’t Run as we have in recent days, am I alone in getting classic early rock & roll instrumentals confused? I can play air guitar to all of them (or air drums) and I know Wipe Out & Sleepwalk when I hear them but Pipeline, Miserlou, Telstar, Walk, Don’t Run as often as not will stump me as to which is which.

  14. I like the clips of Wreckless Eric!

  15. That is not promising news. As to your question, no, Lowe ran out of gas in his initial solo guise. It was time for a change. It took him forever to find a new way to be himself, but it was worth the wait.
