Personal note on humility: Did quite a bit of research and spent about 5 hours putting together this week’s Saturday Night Shut In. After I put the final touches on the episode and clicked save I sat back and rather loudly said to myself “damn good job”. An hour later I came back to my computer to find the dreaded “blue screen of death”. My computer is now in the shop where my local tech surgeon is carefully trying to extract the episode and recover my music library.
And for anyone out there who also loves early Aztec Camera, Orange Juice, etc, have you listened to King Krule (current wonder boy in same vein)? He’s pretty good and it will be interesting to see what he does goes next.
I might be flattering myself by assuming that my name means anything to you guys, but I’m back after a couple months. Blame debate camp for my drop in activity.
Do you want some of what Al Stewart is on?

Fascinating, Captain!
Great Look. Seriously!
It’s filmed in AZ so it gets a pass from me.
Go out and see “Boyhood” if you haven’t already. It has a good, chronological soundtrack and has a guest appearance by Charlie Sexton.
A fan of Aztec Camera & Roddy Frame has been posting a lot of early demos and oddities on Soundcloud. Here’s one:

Probably “for fans only,” as some of these songs and recordings are really rough around the edges.
Here’s an Onion AV Club article that mentions HVB’s fave raves the Upper Crust:

Thanks for making my morning, cher.

I thought I recognized him from somewhere…

Also I want “Wonderwall” to die.
