And when you’re done watching that insanity, check out the 1978 rock’n’roll sports classic. Rod the Bod jumping hurdles, Joan Jett running a dash, members of ELO, the Commodores… I can’t even wrap my head around it.
Hello, all. I apologize for the radio silence. Truth is, I got so much damn stuff to talk about that I don’t know where to start. For now, I’ll just say: Dusty’s injury has had a specific impact on *my* rockin’ life. Townsmen mockcarr and Massimo were set to join me for a 50th b-day ring-dang-do at the Top/Beck show this Wednesday, but now we’re forced to consider far lesser options. In fact, as of today, the best we’ve come up with is a band called “Pree” at a local club, or the open mic night at another decent live music joint in town. Which would you do?
I saw Stevie Wonder in concert around 1983, and he was TREMENDOUS. I simply tuned out during those long, slow, Quiet Storm jams in the Glory of His Name. For most of the show he played the hits. He was also really funny, doing lots of impressions (inc. an excellent Paul McCartney for “Ebony and Ivory”) and generally goofing around between songs in a way that actually pushed along the show.

That’s tragic. I mean, David Guetta… Other thing is too bad also.
Who would have thought Joan Jett would have been such a fast runner? I would have guessed she was a smoker…

The trio of friends should perform at the open mic. That would be memorable, right?
I’m with Cher. Get a few tunes together and let ’em have it.
Happy 50th, HvB!
Oh yeah, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
