Question for RTH members: Has anyone heard of the band The Flame? Good, bad, ugly? A friend suggested them to me and sent “I’m So Happy” tonight for me to listen to. The verdict so far? I like it.
The South African group? Kinda mellow, lotsa harmonies? If so, I like what I’ve heard well enough. I’ll let someone else enjoy the STUDENNNNNNNNNNNNNT!! moment of mentioning what the band’s linchpins went on to do.

One person was from The Rutles, right? And there was some Beach Boys involvement… someone tell me the story… that’s all I got.
Ok I’ll play the swot. The Beach Boys stole Ricky Fataar and Blondie Chaplin from The Flame during the Carl & the Passions/Holland era, and then later Fataar played the role of Stig in All You Need Is Cash.

I once heard a song by The Flame and remembered liking it, but I can’t remember a thing about it.
IMPORTANT QUESTION: Did a Townsperson once suggest that REM should be tried for Rock Crimes for their “Losing My Religion” video? If you were the person, let me know. Thanks.

“Lou Reed will perform with Metallica.”
I was at this “super-used book store” in my area this weekend that sells books/records/CDs that people donate. Most of the records are the type you usually see while “thrifting”, but this time I saw 10 copies of the vinyl version of Chinese Democracy by Guns ‘n Roses, which was rather surprising.
