Today’s All-Star Jam is unbelievable! Martha Quinn gives it up—totally—in honor of our recovering friend and the man who makes The Back Office tick, Townsman sammymaudlin. Get well, my friend!

Aw, who would have thought that there were days when Mtv actually talked about music! And that Guiding Light clip – priceless. That was my soap all through grade school and high school.
Some day I need to dig in and examine the dynamic between Martha Quinn and Nina Blackwood. To discuss it would be oh-so-wrong and oh-so-painful, but I might need to soldier on and air it out. This, however, is not quite the time.
I love the mix of stories/musicians in this clip. It’s like rock’s last gasp at bridging all that the genre has to offer.
This is a powerful clip! I can’t recount all the ways in which this represents the Good MTV of yore. I think this clip is from even before it became available in my hometown, which means it was when MTV was underground and cool.

Sammy is on the mend, I can feel it!
All-RIGHT! The Henry Paul Band! If they don’t speed Sammy on to a swift recovery, I don’t know what will!

Here’s a fun shot from the Uni Watch site, likely to become their version of the famed Linda Rondstadt Chicken Bone shot:

Courtesy of Townsman Tvox, a compilation of clips from The Who’s Live at Leeds show, supposedly the only footage from that show.

I LOVE the fact that it edits out all the long, boring guitar jams!
Thank GOD this is not what I was dreading:
