Here’s top News story from Bob Dylan’s official website. Emphases added by us, because we don’t want The People to miss out on this historic opportunity!

Here is your chance to own a piece of American music history: an original handbill from Bob Dylan’s “Rolling Thunder Review.”

Bob Dylan wanted to “take the music to the people” and that is exactly what he did in 1975. Joined by Joan Baez, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott and Bob Neuwirth, he posted handbills only a couple of days before each show, letting folks know the “Rolling Thunder Revue” was playing in their town. The shows were held at small local venues and solely advertised via these handbills. Now you can own one! This auction is for one ORIGINAL “Rolling Thunder Review” handbill, 22 inches by 14 inches, on textured parchment. (The thickness & color of a manila envelope.) Stop dreaming…and start bidding!

Andy Partridge gets “un-Ludded.”

I think technology is a sword. It’s fine, it’s sharp and you cut things with it, but if you’re not careful you can cut your own toes off. It does bring people in, but it also brings people who don’t like you. Some messages on the Ape House forum have brought me close to tears. Who would write you a fan letter saying how awful you are? The net brings out the anonymous assassin. But certainly, it is great for Ape House (30 percent of all Ape House sales are from the web.)

Pete Townshend beats Strat-o-Matic Rock ‘n Roll to market.

“This is a step in doing something which is a true, authentic, elegant artist process, based on the incredible [software)]system,” he said. “I love what this produces and my vision for it now is that I think, yes, we could have a gathering in some future time where we could share our music together.”

“They’re not that environmentally conscious, but they’ve heard of global warming,” said Reiner… “Nigel thought it was just because he was wearing too much clothing — that if he just took his jacket off it would be cooler.”

Peter Tork calls for Monkees’ rights! Michael Stipe concurs!

How does the band – whose Emmy-winning show aped the Beatles’ film “A Hard Day’s Night” – rank against other inductees? Neither the Animals, the Rascals, the Lovin’ Spoonful, the Dells, Del Shannon, Frankie Lymon nor Black Sabbath have more Top 20 singles than the Monkees’ 10. Ratings aside, classics such as “Pleasant Valley Sunday” have aged better than the likes of Shannon, whose “Hat’s Off to Larry” seems laughable as Hall justification.
