During the mid 70’s, Randy Hansen played professionally in the Las Vegas style show band called “Kid Chrysler and the Cruisers”. Within the floorshow, individual band members developed impersonations of famous rock stars. Subsequently Hansen created the first Jimi Hendrix Tribute act, for the reason of love, the music and the people he sought after keeping Jimi’s music alive.

Hansen breaks new ground in Rock & Roll’s history in 1975, by pioneering the first Rock Tribute act in the United States and soon spreads though out the world.

In 1978, while further exploring the Hendrix role, Hansen formed “Machine Gun”. A tribute to Jimi Hendrix, with a wig and make-up, the moves perfected and the songs duplicated note for note. As the transition was complete, he went on tour opening shows for another young Northwest band called “Heart”.

That’s not all, folks!

I hadn’t kept up with the career of Randy Hansen, since seeing him on EVENING MAGAZINE back in the late seventies, sounds like a phenomenal ride he’s had. Man what if Randy Hansen ever recorded with Miles? What if, what if…..

Unless the image in this clip is reversed (doubtful), he’s right-handed, but he’s playing a left-handed strat upside-down. That’s either dedicated or silly, I don’t know.

    penetrating analysis BigSteve.

I never got the levels of acceptance hansen received.

The Metal Show thread doesn’t work.

RockStar ReUnion 2008 with Roger Fisher and Friends, Hansen performed all night during the All-Star RockJam of the decade with, Roger Fisher-Guitar, Steve Fossen-Bass, Mike Derosier-Drums (3 original band members from Heart), Tony “TC” Coleman-Drums (BB King), Goldy McJohn-Keyboards (Steppenwolf), Allen White-Drums (Yes, John Lennon), Lynn Sorensen-
Bass/Violin (Paul Rogers, Sex and Violins), Evan Sheeley-Bass (TKO, Sex and Violins), Marino Corriea-Keyboards (Tommy Gunn and the Damage Done from the War Babies), Gregg Fox-Keyboards, Freddy Dennis (The Kingsmen) and many more.

Shouldn’t the All Star RockJam of the decade include someone people have heard of?
