Thanks for posting this. What do you all think? I was disappointed to hear the this album doesn’t include their original bass player or drummer. I’d say the album isn’t bad, but isn’t great either. Some tracks are fun, but that vocoder one was a very poor choice.
I was disappointed that Sara Lee wasn’t involved. Saw them live once and she looked at me. I knew she wanted me. I KNEW it. Amazing.
I found that in listening to this that if I could divorce myself from it being a GOF release and thought of it more as a Jon and Andy release I liked it much better. What does that say about me?

George: It’s all in the mind.
Would that have been around ’88 or ’89? If so, she and I were already dating.
Drummer Hugo Burnham went back to being a professor:

His retirement from the band was amicable, and they have his blessing.
I’ve got to give it another listen today. On first listen I heard some cool guitar stuff, but I was missing hearing a distinct rhythm section.
On second listen, so far, there’s more rhythm than I was hearing. Maybe I am hung up on the lack of Hugo himself.
I think it was more like 85-86 or so. She was probably thinking about me when she was with you.
Cross-referencing posts here, just realized that Andy Gill produced the first Red Hot Chili Peppers album. Did he produce this one, too?
