Clever headline on this one Mr. Mod — I don’t know what’s wrong with the voiceover but am offended by the wholesale misrepresentation of who will be singing vocals. Of course, people who go to these types of shows really don’t care.
BINGO! Your No-Prize will not be sent to you shortly.
How does that guy even merit inclusion on a promo? Unless they were targeting Modern Drummer subscribers for that show, do regular music fans, let alone regular people, care about Prairie Prince?
“The dude’s so consistent on the snare, man. If Barbato was playing I’d be tempted to skip this show, but I with Prairie I am SO there!”
Prince Prairie is a good catch. I also like how that section of the voiceover (:19 to :23) sounds like it was recorded over the phone and then edited into the rest of it, which seems to have been recorded with real microphones.
To be fair, he’s marketed himself pretty well. I would venture a guess that he has more name recognition with low grade rock nerds than, say, your Russ Kunkles or your Steve Gadds.
By the way, I came across this interesting tidbit while poking around Wikipedia: “(Cathy) Richardson (the new singer for the Starship) has been widely reported to be good friends with musicians Dennis DeYoung and Jim Peterik.” Who is reporting this? And why do you suppose it can’t be confirmed?
It’s more suited to a amphetamine-fueled dragstrip ad than a laid-back way-over-the-hill California group? Sunday Sunday Sunday….

That’s a fine criticism, but not the objective blunder that folks like us are here to spot.
The patter is way too fast for anyone who would go to such event to know whether to attend.

You can’t trust advertising folk.

Wow, who is the booking agent for this place? Satan himself?
Probably one of Mike Love’s friends in the business — same MO. Nice add for that chick’s resume though — “yeah, I was a singer in Jefferson Starship.”

Who would admit to it?
Galactic reunion? That ain’t even a solar-system reunion.
I caught Mr Prince too. Did he play with XTC at some point?
Yep, on Skylarking.
Christopher Cross with a juggler? I think he meant Chris Cross gets you in the jugular.
