We here in the Halls of Rock Town are sometimes taken to task for being overly negative, snarky, hyper-critical, and all too often, just downright rude. As part of our collective efforts to bring a bit of sunshine and light to the world wide web, we occasionally make an extra effort effort to find something good to say about, you know, stuff that is clearly godawful.
It is in that spirit that we embark on yet another effort to bring some positivity to our proceedings. Please spend some quality time with the video above, then — if you can — please find something nice to say about it. You’ll feel a whole lot better, I promise you.
I look forward to your comments. Just remember, if you can’t say anything nice about this video… please don’t say anything at all.
The piano playing reminds me of “Cast Your Fate to the Wind”. That song, by the way, was composed by the late Vince Guaraldi, who gained fame with the Peanuts theme.

I like the lyrics: “Orange! Pantyhose! Orange! Pantyhose!”
That made me laugh really, really hard, and it is said that laughter is very healthy. Thanks, Christian Vander! Mod, please try to track him down in Paris and tell him what joy he has brought to one townsman who was previously unaware of his contributions.
He does some truly amazing things with his eyes. You know what? I like Magma…some of their music is really amazing and intense. I have no idea what the hell this is, but it does sound like he’s singing in the language he made up and I gotta love anyone who can get that much excitement about words that don’t actually mean anything.

Now that’s why I’m still up here once in a while.

He is ruggedly handsome — reminiscent of a young Anthony Quinn with a mop-top.
Very tame and washed up Magma stuff from 1984. Otis from the album Merci. Sung in french, not zeuhl, kobaian, clingon or whatever was Magma’s official language.
Nice “Jazz Hand” gestures.
Is there a compilation available of RTH video favorites. If not, would someone kindly make the effort to put one together? I’d certainly pay handsomely for a copy.
Sincerely,
E. Pluribus
I recognized Magma from an old prog compilation. Here is the one song I knew, which I find fascinating if not all that good.

Nice that Vander can still do that warbling vocal thing. Plus he looks a lot happier (and cleaned up) in the ’80s video.
Half his shirt’s not bad.
