As a high school teacher, I am privy to the latest adolescent viral video and music long before many of you. Rebecca Black’s “Friday”? Carly Rae Jepson? Been there, seen that, vomited, long ago.
So, I must warn you of the latest rage among the Driver’s Ed set, and test your ability to accentuate the positive.
Observe:
This might win a Battle Royale with Radiohead’s “Lotus Flower.”
I think this is great. I can’t find anything bad to say about it.
Just when I thought it could get no nicer there was that little dance-off at the end. It’s nice to see piss-poor elements from our culture get into the hands of people from another culture, who then turn our crap into a work of joy and beauty.
1) The blue jacket with the black trim is *sharp*.
2) At 1:33 he’s actually wearing a life jacket while on the boat! Aquatic safety is no joke…
3) I was highly amused by the whole thing.
There is excellent use of primary colors…
I shall quote from the artist’s own description on the youtube page. It is indisputable:
“The song is characterized by its strongly addictive beats and lyrics, and is thus certain to penetrate the foundations of modern philosophy.”
It’s nice that Korea has its own Pitbull.
Visually, I found this to be very entertaining.
I really enjoyed that, so much that I watched a version with an English translation, although (disappointingly) in Korean it sounds much ruder than it actually is, just like the lyrics of Kraftwerk songs sound fantastic in German but a bit odd in English. He’s a lively chap, isn’t he? Reminded me of Jedward, it would be great to see a collaboration there.
The little FM transmittery thing we use for mp3s in the car packed up on holiday so we listened to a lot of French radio, which was like wall to wall Eurovision songs interspersed with rap songs in English, some with a considerable amount of swearing – we eventually settled for a station which seemed to broadcast only classic violin music. But I ramble…
Within about thirty seconds I was put in mind of this sport, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPQ6TuvqX7w, not as popular as it might be, but more entertaining than dancing horses at the Olympics. I once picked up a hitchhiker who participated in this sport and explained its attractions to me as we made our way along the road. I’ve not been tempted to take part myself, although the World Conker Championships are held near here and I’ve always fancied giving that a go.
We in America play much dirtier:

Presumably, while Kim Jong-Un was rehearsing his dance moves for this video he was distracted from oppressing his countrymen and pursuing a nuclear weapon.
