I was looking for the appropriate clip to express my thanks to the active and lurking members of Rock Town Hall. I found the following. I think you’ll agree that it’s about as beautiful as sentiment as one human can express through a computer screen. Thanks, and enjoy your holiday weekend (these wishes extend to those of you not being thankful for the conquering of the New World).

  1. Ah, the innocent days before “Ruby Don’t Take Your Love to Town” tore them apart …

I’m talking with Kenny Rogers next week. Any tips on how to incorporate this into the discussion without ending the conversation immediately would be appreciated.

I dig this country/soul sound. Ruby was a good record too. Even the psych/cheese of I Just Dropped In still sounds pretty cool to me.

Trivia note: the drummer in the First Edition, hidden in the dark in this video, was Mickey Jones, who played drums with The Hawks on Dylan’s legendary 1966 European tour.

Wow, that Mickey Jones spot is worthy of an RTH non-prize!

  4. I actually remember this song. I didn’t know it was the First Edition.

    I dig Kenny’s hair-helmet.

Also, could the male backing vocalist be any more uncomfortable?

Do any of you surf? Would you need a Jet Ski to tow you up that curl of Kenny’s, or could you just lay there and wait for it and still get maximum surfig enjoyment?
