Some of you might say the wonders of this performance are self-explanatory. Some of you wiseacres might say he should take his own advice. Lou would say you and all those gabby fans are missing the point. This is Lou Reed, after all…as his music was meant to sound!
I just recently noticed that Lou’s erstwhile foil John Cale has a new album released today, Shifty Adventures In Nookie Wood.
I’ve been listening a bit lately to his Extra Playful ep of last year and was thinking that Cale falls into that small group of artists which are never not worth a listen. Unlike Lou, he continues to release fresh music (even when it’s not that different from what he has released before). He has to have one of the higher batting averages for an artist with so many at bats.
Or maybe that last comment should have been entered in the Undertones thread, he self-replied.
