See if you can’t match the 1970s artists with the 1970s prepackaged foods.
1. Billy Joel | A. Brim Decaffeinated Coffee |
2. Jobriath | B. Jello 1-2-3 Strawberry Gelatin |
3. Linda Rondstadt | C. Manwich |
4. Elton John | D. Banquet Salisbury Steak TV Dinner |
5. Leo Sayer | E. Tang |
6. Carly Simon | F. Mazola Corn Oil |
7. Al Di Meola | G. Hamburger Helper |
8. Bob Seger | H. Grape Nuts |
Ha, too funny! I was going to do a post about matching the 80’s singer with the adjective that best describes him or her, but I think this is even better.
I’m a little unsure about some of my choices.
1. F
2. E
3. B
4. G
5. A
6. D
7. H
8. C
1. G
2. F
3. A
4. C
5. B
6. H
7. E
8. D
I have to think about the rest of them but Seger is probably the Manwich and Linda Rondstadt is definitely the Tang.
Joel – Hamburger Helper
Jobriath – Manwich (note that I have no idea who this is)
Ronstadt – Brim
Elton – Mazola
Sayer – Jello 1-2-3
Simon – Grape Nuts
DiMeola – Tang
Seger – Salisbury Steak!
BJ – Mazola, as he is both corny AND oily.
Jobriath – Tang – he was a gay astronaut from the future, who is only rarely consumed by a small following of the faithful nowadays.
Ronstadt – Grape Nuts, at least when she was in her barefoot waif period, before she went “new wave”, at which point she became Fruity Pebbles or Freakies…..or something.
Elton – Banquet Salisbury Steak TV Dinner – You got the entire meal with Elton; ace songwriting, playing chops, and a heapin’ helping of “Mach Schau!” performance razzle-dazzle.
Leo – Jello 1-2-3 – Light & sugary. You’d have forgotten you’d even eaten it 5 minutes after you were finished.
Carly – Brim Decaf…I think that was the brand she was drinking when she noticed the clouds swirling around in her cup.
Al DiMeola – Hamburger Helper – He was but one of the four ingredients that help stretch the fusion casserole of Return to Forever into a satisfying meal for those so inclined. I can’t go near fusion; it makes me swell up like a puffer fish.
Seger – Manwich! A workingman’s meal: simple, full of ground beef and it’s served in a bun. Nothin’ fancy….and not very good for you, either.
TREMENDOUS ANSWERS! You know, I went into this thread thinking there were no “right” answers, but you may have nailed them all.
Thanks.
