They are primarily instrumental, I believe, so “non-stop soloing” is maybe the point, but boy was that a slog.
I’ve heard short tunes by them that are ok in a late 60’s AM soul instrumental way, but that endless two chord vamp gave nothing for the guitarist to play against no matter how good he is.
I like this band quite a bit, and was going to mention them on a previous thread about decent new music to check out. And it helps that the band, especially the bass player, has “a look.”
Granted, that’s a pretty weak solo, but they seemed to be more intent on keeping the groove going and entertaining the audience. Back in the day, I saw P-Funk perform “Flashlight,” another great jam of a song, but it got to the point where I was just waiting for the friggin’ tune to end.
