A 70’s hard rock classic. It goes like this:

Da da Dadada

Da-da-da

Da-da-da

Da d-da d-da

Da da Dadada

Da-da-da

Da-da-da

Da d-da d-da

Iron Man. Unless I am sadly mistaken.

  2. You are mistaken but not sadly so because the first line certainly looks like Iron Man.

Let me know if you would like a hint.

  3. misterioso

I would like to ask you to reconsider.

  4. Fair enough, hmmm… Nope, I’ve reconsidered it and (per the last time we played this game) Iron Man looks like this:
    Dah Dah Dah Dada

    Du-du-du-du-du

    Da Da Da Da

Hint: this song was by one of the biggest bands in the world in the 70s.

I’m hearing a lovely Mozart minuet. Is it indeed in 3/4 time?

  6. ladymisskirroyale

Oops, on second tap, it doesn’t appear to be in 3/4 time.

  7. Interesting. I think it switches between 4/4 and some other weird time signiture.

Hint #2: This hard rock band occasionally took a crack at funkier songs/riffs, especially in the era in which they recorded this album.

Led Zeppelin, The Ocean. Unless I am sadly mistaken.

  9. Ding Ding Ding! Excellent job! You may now offer up a song or let this thread die on the vine.

  10. But that’s not strictly “The Ocean”. This is how it really goes:

    Da da Dadada
    Da-da-da
    Da-da-da
    Da d-da
    d-Da da Dadada
    Da-da-da
    Da-da-da…

You have one too many “da”s in line 4, and the fourth “d” in that line is actually a lead-in note for line 5. I thought of “The Ocean” but I rejected it because the syntax was wrong.

  11. misterioso

Ah, is that how it works? Can I, as they say, pass for now, and let someone else take a crack at it?

  12. misterioso

You two work this out. Just send me the cash and prizes!

  13. Sure. Just bask in the glow of your sweet, sweet victory…

  14. Sweet use of the pince nez!

  15. tonyola

There’s a difference between getting something musically right and the “pince nez”. What if someone claimed that the beginning of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony began was “Da-da-da-da-daahhhh”? Would it be picky to challenge that statement?

  16. Misterioso, please ignore Tonyola and the Mod’s attempts to diminish your victory. It’s yours. Nobody can take that away from you.

  17. tonyola

I am not attempting to dispute or diminish misterioso’s win. I am calling you out on your musical knowledge. I can’t take your error away from you.

  18. Piling on, eh, Mod?

  19. misterioso

tony, I just want you to know that even though you tried to tarnish my triumph I still think of you as Good People, albeit one who likes prog rock.

  20. tonyola

The triumph is yours beyond dispute and I’ve never claimed otherwise. You won it fair and square not because of cdm’s error, but despite it.
