In these dark days of winter, I thought sharing a special video could make the season just a bit more light-hearted and bearable. But then I found this, thanks to my brother’s Facebook page, and I couldn’t resist sharing it with you:
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen such a horrible video. It makes classic 80’s low tech, big hair synth pop videos look positively regal. In it’s absolute ridiculousness, however, it attains a level of almost surrealistic meta..something.
Discuss.
Wow. That’s one of the weirdest videos I’ve seen in a long time! Sounds a little like Delores O’Riordan did some backing vocals before she made it big.
What’s a Rutgers t-shirt doing in there?
That’s one of the most fantastically bad things I’ve ever seen. It looks like how I’m going to feel after the coming week of giant meals and more sweets than I usually eat the other 50 weeks of the year combined. Thank you for sharing!
An early mashup? I guess they could call this satire — I don’t get how they didn’t get sued by about a dozen artists.
Yes, this video was a complete nightmare for me. I first heard it when my brother was in London for a year abroad and used to tape Radio 1 and then send me the mixes. However, I’d somehow never seen this video. It’s hard to imagine a song beating out Men Without Hats’ “Safety Dance” as the worst possible video ever made.
