I couldn’t even sit all the way through this insufferable jelly’s opinions, but I do dig The Fall.
Maybe after the initial unleashing of Punk, they represented all the new things a band was allowed to do: smash up rockabilly, Krautrock, industrial ennui and amphetamines? Yeah!!!
One of the great things about The Fall centers around the personage of Mark E. Smith himself. The half-spoken Manchester accent, the schwa at the end of every word, plus, he looks like an old ventriloquist dummy who choked on something.
I think the antagonism and diatribe can be best explained by all the empty bottles of Jaegermeister sitting on the table…I think ‘At the Movies’ would have been a better show if Siskel and Ebert were able to bring an axe or mace with them for emphasis…I think ‘class struggle’ my ass…
Around 79 someone in the area here put out a regular mimeographed multi-page fanzine on The Fall and Mark Smith and I wrote a mental note to check them out as any band that could arouse that much passion had to have something worth earing – I have yet to cash that check…
They just don’t make jumpsuits like they used to. I’ve got to run out and pick up a jar of ‘Insufferable Jelly’ – the hand crushed kind…
Dude is right: Slates is best.

I’ve got to remember to use schweinhund the next time I get into a political debate around the office.
