I didn’t know there was a “Maurice” and I didn’t know The Radiants did anything but the excellent “Hold On.” Here, they outdo Curtis Mayfield & The Impressions on one of their own, lesser songs. What are your favorite reclaimed throwaways?
I discovered The Four Seasons’ “The Night” via Pulp’s cover version from a French radio session. The song is absolutely perfect for Pulp’s style and worldview.

The original is great too, and I’m not really a Four Seasons fan. It’s from their tenure with Motown in the early ’70s. It was apparently a top 10 hit in the UK.

What a funny way for someone to tune into The Four Seasons. Rock on, Pulp!
