  1. You picked one of the better singles from Paul Revere & The Raiders. The Raiders were much like the Hollies who we discussed some time back. Both groups had a distinctive sound and managed a string of good-to-great singles for a few years beginning in 1965 or so, then lost their way in the late ’60s. Neither group really made it as an album band and were long dismissed as unhip pop. Ignore the silly Revolutionary War costumes and listen to songs like “Just Like Me’, “Kicks”, “Hungry”, “Good Thing”, and so on.

  2. Right on, tonyola, and you can count me among those who too-long resisted the band’s charms because of those uniforms. They’ve got a dozen SOLID singles – more than most bands can say.
