Hey, guys and gals! I’m back with another fiendishly clever challenge for you — one, as always, that will reward those of you who embrace your idiotic obsession with rock trivia and other chick-repellent tendencies.

Today, your job is a simple one: identify the bands and songs from whence these opening phrases come. The difficulty? These are all spoken word introductions…and not always featuring the artists themselves!

Some of the following are easy, some are not. I am sure, however, that between the lot of you, all answers will be found. In the meantime, to make your answering easy, I’ve included a handy, cut-and-paste-able list you can fill in at your leisure:

Hey, RTH — I just want to go on record as saying I’m appalled that all of you have let Mr. Mod and others ride roughshod over Charlie Watts’ reputation. Anyone with brain one ought to be able to see with crystal clarity just how vital the Watts groove thang is to the band; how he’s single-handedly responsible for setting the vibe on dozens of classic Stones traxx.

To help prove this point, I’ve assembled a montage of Watts drum intros to 12 classic Stones tracks. Now, since I assembled the montage, I already know which songs they introduce. But I’m certain there are more than a few of you who ought to be able to identify the tracks in question. Especially since I’m willing to offer up a helpful hint: All the tracks are in alphabetical order.

So come on, Watts fans and Stones know-it-alls! Show us how vital Watts really is to that band! Identify these traxx!

The fourth round of the 2007 Rock Town Hall Fantasy Rock Band League Draft is underway! If you don’t know the drill by now, you might as well disband. Here’s the round where cap space management might get tricky! To date, Sammy is closest to capping out, with $1.1 million spent; Mr. Mod is next with $950,000 of his budget spent on 2 first-round picks and a high third-rounder. The league capologist is currently computing remaining cap space for each band. He will try to notify you as you reach $1 million.
