Oh No ! As I trawl those death throes of Glam clips on “Supersonic” you play the “Razzamatazz” card. I had almost managed to forget that show.
Hardly educational but the sight of a genuine Rock God having fun & getting messy on the anarchic Saturday morning kids’ show “Tiswas” is TV gold. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-glKUwLbHI
Apparently this exchange got edited out: “Kate, you seem like a nice young lady, but when you sing are you trying to be as f-ing annoying as possible or do have no control over it?”
All I can think of right now is the New Seekers’ “I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing.” Cassette tape sent to us kids as a positive influence from a religious English relative. Obviously, it didn’t stick.
I had a vague memory of Iggy Pop playing a teacher in a Nickelodeon show. Turns out he was a parent (I think, based on this cameo), but Gordon Gano and some others were teachers.
Debbie Boone is doing some cheesy ad for a vague “product” that seems to amount to some form of plastic surgery or Botox. One of the hooks for calling the toll-free number and doing whatever you would be asked to do next was the chance to win free tickets to see Debbie Boone in concert. Does any 1-hit wonder promise less, 35 years after his or her lone moment of glory, than Debbie Boone in concert?
Yo Gabba Gabba, a show seemingly created by hipster Park Slope parents regularly has bands as musical guests. Here’s Weezer teaching the kids something while dressed in insect outfits. Also Biz Marky regurlaly teches the kids hid to beat box and Mark Mothersbaugh (sp) from Devo gives art lessons.
That reminds me of a similar show out of DC. I’m blanking on its name, but people like Ian McKaye jump around with little kids and teach them how to do bulk rate mailings and hand-package 45s into plastic sleeves.

I love the ceremony around this pie throwing. I do think the kids learned something about the down-to-earth nature of rock gods.

C’mon man — The “Hounds of Love” album is cool. And she’s smoking hot, too.

How about this inspirational learning session with the wild woman of CBGB’s channeling Debbie Boone?

Clearly misterioso is incapable of listening with his eyes.

And now an important instructional video, courtesy of The Police:

My wife hates her voice too, so I am used to it.
Mos def!
Most educational! Who else was looking for a high five when Martin Donovan showed up?

For me, 100% unlistenable. Run from the room screaming.
