Motivated, in part, by our ongoing effort to identify Rock Town Hall’s Essential Videos and to possibly compile some ambience to project during this weekend’s Sausages for Sammy extravaganza, I had my 14-year-old son show me what to do to download and edit videos for my own purposes. It’s not of the quality that many of you would deliver, but here’s my first attempt at putting some essential images to Hrrundivbakshi‘s “Rock Town Hall Theme.” What I’m really trying to say is…
This is your Rock Town Hall!

I think I know where we’re going to center next year’s Day the Music Died rock-oliday:

Nicely done all around! (Applause.)
Mod, your new skills in this area will give me a chance to pitch an RTH Labs initiative that I’ve had kicking around in my head for a while as a possible supplement to the Saturday Night Shut-In series.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts, hopefully this Saturday night!
This is just great! Pure awesomeness — and lots of running!
Yeah, it’s important for people to know that rock nerds are not sedentary by nature.
Must be all the coffee! Coffee is always better when served by Chrissie Hynde.
RockTownHall Labs would like to update you all on the development of our New Rock Topic Generator. As part of it’s beta testing phase, we are pleased to report our first successful generation of a topic in Rock using the RTG:
Which artist most consistently has produced better album art than the music contained therein?
We expect to have the RTG up and running at full power sometime next month.
– RTH Labs
Nice work, RTH Labs! I’ll bring that topic to The Main Stage shortly.
Are out of town folks going to be able to interact with the locals at the Sammy shindig tomorrow? This is the 21st century after all. Feel free to weigh in with a better solution but I’m thinking a laptop logged onto Skype, perched on top of a headless mannequin. It will be like having bostonhistorian right in the room with us.
Thanks for reminding me to ask my Olde Tyme Musik-loving-yet-hi-tech-son to see if he can hook us up with Skype. If nothing else I would like to have a laptop set up for LIVE BLOGGING.
Tomorrow morning the first important set of details regarding the Classic Rock Psychic Rock Block Event will be released, then about a half hour before the 20-minute block I’ll release the link to the particular Classic Rock station. Online predictions can be made through about noon tomorrow; after that we will only accept live bids as we gather around a card table in my backyard.
Coincidentally I just got off the phone with sammymaudlin. He’s moved by our efforts and continues to make progress on his recovery!
If I think of it, I’ll bring my lap top as well. I’m envisioning a scenario where Ladymisskirroyale and and BigSteve are chit-chating from two laptops set up on a picnic table.
Look forward to some rocking background visuals, too!
