My inner horny 13-year-old has lost a special friend today.
The Seeds’ Sky Saxon has also died. It’s hard to beat “You’re Pushing Too Hard” for original Nuggets tracks.

Yeah. I always preferred Cheryl Ladd though, her teeth weren’t as blinding.
Is there a rock equivalent of Cheryl Ladd, that is, a replacement for a band’s leader who would end up nearly as beloved as the original band leader? Now that I ask the question, I shudder to think that Roger Waters might be the answer!
Mr. Mod, the answer to your question is Gary Cherone.
Mary Waronov!
Farrah was never my favorite. In fact I liked her least of the original three, although my 14-year old self liked all of them aplenty. I’m sorry to hear about her death.
Sky Saxon though, that one hurts me more. I was playing a few of those Seeds songs just the other day. Isn’t there a gravestone or something similar for The Seeds themselves that reads “Two great chords, five great albums.” I wouldn’t go that far myself, but the sentiment is as timelessly rock and roll as anything I can imagine.
Rest well, Sky. You are probably right now finding out whether God really is just Dog spelled backwards, as you so often professed.
Kate Jackson is a fine-looking woman, don’t get me wrong, but the fact that she’s beating out Farrah and Cheryl Ladd in the current poll tells me way too much about why Rock Town Hall can stay so healthy and vibrant a place for rock nerds to conduct their business. Where else could “the smart Angel” lead in such a poll?
I was surprised by Kate’s lead as well, and I’m one of the ones who voted for her. I thought for sure I’d be the only one.
The present day me was torn between her and Jaclyn Smith but I recall liking her the best way back when.
I voted for Cheryl Ladd. I had her poster on my wall.

I remember my dad liked Kate Jackson. You guys must be old!
I for one am disappointed that the “smart”-ness of a Charlie’s Angel could sway any minds in these parts. *Really* smart people realize that the only things of substantive value on that show were the tits and ass on display, and as far as Charlie’s Angel tits and ass were concerned, it was Cheryl Ladd in a landslide. I have spoken — now it’s back to mom’s basement for me.
Geo, Mary’s last name is ‘Woronov’, & I would’ve picked her over any of those Angel bimbos. I, to be perfectly honest, never watched Charlies Angels when it was first on tv. I dunno why, I just didn’t. Maybe it was on opposite “Three’s Company” & I didn’t want to miss Susan Sommers’ shameless bouncing mammary parade. Weird, I really can’t remember why I didn’t ever watch it. Huh….
Well, I can see by this thread, we’re still trying to court the female music fans out there. Keep up the good work, fellahs!
Bobby, let us know how your efforts at scoring chicks – I’m sorry, socializing with women – through rock talk on other blogs is faring. I’m sorry if this thread hasn’t worked for you, but I’m told that A LOT of dudes hooked up with lurking Townswomen over this tribute to Farrah.
Harr Dee Harr Harr, Mr. Mod! BTW, things were going just fine, I was “socializing” more than I have in years (became extremely social with 3 women in particular. Good talkers. Knew their rock & roll, too.) until I was put under suspension by the faceless powers that be, for what is the equivalent of talking to too many people. Why that’s a crime on a “social networking” site is beyond my limited grasp of these matters. Oh, and how exactly is this thread “rock talk”? Did the Angels also perform songs as a band on the show, like Josie & the Pussycats or something? As I said, I didn’t watch the show.
