The Web made it much easier for us gabby, old friends across the country to keep in touch. I still have the e-mail from you entitled “Half Baked,” where you first broached the idea of turning the Yahoo Groups version of Rock Town Hall into a custom-designed blog. A few months later, after a couple hundred e-mails and phone conversations, you sent me an e-mail entitled “Fully Baked.” Our friendship was fully revived during those months. How long have we been doing this stuff, talking on a regular basis, meeting up for special occasions? It’s all been good, man. In fact, it’s been great. After our coming road trip, there’s a new horizon to conquer. You know what I’m talking about:
Wow. Pretty cool. Just flyin’ our freak flags man.
So much here that I’d like to respond to but I’ll keep it to these:
• That cover band sounded a lot like Pink Floyd and The Talking Heads
• To be fair, I look at least 13 in that photo
• Those Heather Locklear moments in Hooker were from the same episode and took up more then 2 minutes. Concrete evidence that Stacy Sheridan, Captain’s daughter or not, was one hell of a cop
• Did not expect the Rundgren thing. Was expecting something else more obvious. Well played.
FYI- I’ve got an email into Zmed (“Boy Romeo”), to see if he can hang down in The Big Easy with us. Would fit in nicely with his cop jacket adding to our Fonda and Hopper jackets. Then it would feel like we’d only be one construction worker shy of a Village People costume party.
Thank you Mr. Moderator, father and friend.
As for the lack of over-the-top comments featuring praise, admiration, gratitude, awe and such I say,
Enough about me. What do you think of me?
JK (as the kids say).
For those who continue to rock. I salute you.
Happy Birthday, Mr Maudlin! Thanks for keeping this place running and thanks for designing such a kick ass album cover.
Happy birthday!
Have a great birthday!
As they all the kids says — You’re awesome!

Ooooo. I like that singin’ Ting in a way that I used to like Debby Harry.
Happy birthday! Thanks for keeping the lights on and the riff raff out!
You’re not old; you’re mature.
