The Van Halen Brothers?
I know the answer, but I got it by cheating (wife scanned the photo with her phone) so I won’t reveal. That was a tough one! I tried for awhile, but would not have never gotten this one. I was thinking southern California surf/garage band that turned into 60s/early 70s rock band. Not even close.
I have that app on my phone, but I’ve yet to try it. Damn, these apps are going to ruin all our games! Thanks for being honest, Bronzed One.
No cheating!
First hint: This band is NOT from the US.
Stating the obvious here:
1. From left to right: Bassist, drummer, guitarist, guitarist (could be anyone).
2. I see Japanese or European guitars. I’m guessing they came from meager backgrounds.
3. Park bench in front of picket fence. Hmm, rural upbringing.
4. Jeans and t-shirts. No nonsense blue collar guys.
5. ARE is in capital letters in the headline. Is Mr. Mod trying to throw us a bone?
I’m guessing some early version of AC/DC or some other Australian band.
The Rascals?
I’m thinking that chimney looks awfully European.
The two guys in the middle look related. Are they brothers?
To solidify some of the observations made so far:
This is band definitely is on the hard-rock side of the spectrum and is indeed European.
Also I will state that this band is still together, although only one original member (from the photo) still remains.
Golden Earring?

Wishbone Ash? They are down to one original member. And the two that look like brothers could be the Turner brothers, Martin and Ted.
I know this one, so I’m not gonna spill the beans, but one previous guess is only off by *this* much!
None of the boys are wearing floods (aka highwaters), so I’m guessing they’re Canadian. On the other hand, is the boy on the left wearing sandals or flip-flops? I’m totally confused.
Sure looks like some Italian blood in a couple of those kids.

I’m guessing Netherlands or Northern European.
I’m divining my Arizona roots and guessing Scorpions.

I thought CCR and Van Halen were great opening guesses.
So according to Bobby B, above, it’s the Scorpions? Now I see what Telewhacker was up to. If it’s the Scorpions I’d say Telewhacker wins the Patented RTH No-Prize while Bobby and Bronzed Nordic God share the RTH Good Sport Award. Bravo, and thanks, cher!

Yes, Ladymiss is correct! I was otherwise engaged for the past few hours, so thanks to BB for filling in for me. Can you imagine a band of today being able to take the journey they took? Ten years to slowly build up some fame and still another ten before they scored a hit?
I never posted because the hints revealed I was wrong but the guy on the left looks like a young David Byrne.
